Jackson's comments:
Me: "Jackson, let's figure out what you want to wear on your first day of school".
Jackson: "Mom, I don't really care about what I wear, I just want to see my friends".
This morning:
Me: "Jackson, time to get up and going! It's your first day of first grade!" (I resisted singing the good morning song)
Jackson: "I'm super nervous"
Me: "What are you nervous about?"
Jackson: "I'm scared my friends won't be in my class"
Me: "But then you could find them at recess and make new friends that are in your class, right?"
Jackson: "I won't know where to find my friends on the playground! What if they don't play at the tire swing anymore?"
(Jackson became famous at Creston School as a Kindergartener because he was the best tire swing pusher).
I love to hear his thought processes and to see how much he values relationships. Colby took him to drop him off at school and get him settled in his new classroom.
First Grade - how did this happen?
